LAS VEGAS -- Las Vegas Metro police did not have to look too far to find an accused killer. A man walked right into the police department on Friday and announced he killed his girlfriend in the home they shared. The body was found Friday morning in the 4400 block of Harris Avenue off Lamb Boulevard.Police said this doesn't happen very often. They said they're glad he confessed -- but it won't change the charges.“I've lived here since I was 3. Nothing ever happened like this," said neighbor Lucy Saucedo.“I can tell you she was stabbed in the face, neck and head area. I wouldn't say her throat was slit,” said Metro homicide Lt. Lew Roberts.Filadelfo Galeno-Moran, 47, has been charged with murder with the use of a deadly weapon.Police said they found a 45-year-old woman bleeding on a bed.At the time of the killing, the woman’s three children and mother were home.“Nobody that was in the house witnessed the murder because it occurred in the back master bedroom between the victim and suspect,” Roberts said.Police said they don't know the motive but said the incident began with an argument.“Domestic violence is not a good thing. This is another example of what happens when you’re involved in these kinds of relationships,” Roberts said.Police spoke to the children and the grandmother Friday morning to find out more about what happened. They're not releasing the victim's name until the coroner completes the autopsy.Galeno-Moran was booked into Clark County Detention Center.
