LAS VEGAS -- A woman hit by a car in a northwest Las Vegas neighborhood died of her injuries, the Clark County Coroner’s Office told FOX5.

Beverly Gross, 55, was walking down Rainbow Boulevard Tuesday when a Volkswagen driven by 39-year-old Martha Aceto swerved onto the sidewalk and struck her.

Gross’s sister, who did not want to be identified, told FOX5’s The Rant that Aceto should have received more than just a ticket.

“My sister had five daughters and something needs to be done about that. She’s got 13 grandkids,” she said.

Police have not announced any criminal charges against Aceto, but said they are still investigating. Witnesses told police Aceto’s car was in the furthest lane from the curb when it drifted onto the sidewalk and struck Gross.
