LAS VEGAS -- A 24-year-old man became the sixth person killed in a motorcycle accident in Las Vegas in eight days when he lost control and struck a light pole early Monday morning.The accident happened near the intersection of Oakey Boulevard and Westwind Road.
Video: Motorcyclists Urged To Take Safety CourseMetro police said the man was likely speeding and was killed instantly when the bike struck the pole, breaking it off at its base.There have been 50 fatal accidents in Las Vegas this year, and six motorcycle-related deaths in the last eight days.Early Sunday morning, a motorcyclist was killed when he crossed into an oncoming lane and struck a car on Durango Drive near University Avenue.
