The Southern Nevada Health Department and FOX5 want to remind you of the ABC and Ds of drowning prevention.
  • A: Adult supervision -- Never leave children unattended around pools.
  • B: Barriers -- Gates, alarms and anything that makes is harder for children to get in the water.
  • C: Classes -- CPR, swimming lessons.
  • D: Devices -- Personal floatation devices, life jackets and rescue tools.
Drowning is the No. 1 cause of preventable death for children under the age of 4.
