Fox5's Facebook pages asked fans to share their fondest memories of the King of Pop.

Here's what some had to say:

"When I was 3 years old, I used to stare at my brother's ‘Thriller’ album. I thought Michael Jackson was so cute, and he became my first celebrity crush.

“My brother and I would dance to "Billie Jean," and that’s when I fell in love with M.J. and his music." - Susan Taylor

"I remember when the ‘Thriller’ video premiered during the Super Bowl halftime show. It was better than watching the Raiders win the championship.” - Anthony Santoro

"It's so sad. He was a musical icon regardless of his 'supposed' immoral behavior. Let the dead rest in peace and remember him for the incredible musical contributions he made.” - Mindy Richards

“My very first CD my Dad gave me back in the ‘80s was Michael Jackson’s first gold album. I thought it was the best gift ever that just came out. Oddly enough, CDs were just coming out. How sad. He will be missed.” - Tammy Hoban

“My favorite memory is all the fans crying just at the sight of him!!! Just how I feel right now ...Utterly Touched!” - Vanessa McConnell

“His songs were awesome, but his dancing was even better.” - Mark Keene
