LAS VEGAS -- Money will soon be released in the battle over a new train system which would link Las Vegas and southern California. A Senate transportation committee is preparing to release $8 billion to develop the program.Two systems, the Desert X-Press and the Magnetic Levitation train are vying for the route.Sen. Harry Reid supported the Mag-Lev train but now says he prefers the Desert X-Press plan.
