LAS VEGAS -- Nevada will receive $52 million to fund unemployment insurance at a time when the state’s jobless rate is at a record high, the Department of Labor announced Tuesday.The funding, made available through the federal stimulus package, is in addition to $25 million provided earlier this month.Survey: Have You Or Someone You Know Lost A Job In The Last Year?Nevada’s unemployment rate reached 11.3 percent last month, according to the state Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation. That’s the highest number since record-keeping began in 1976.In Las Vegas, the jobless rate was 11.1 percent. State officials said out of the 154,600 people without a job, 112,700 of them were in Clark County.
