Wall Collapses At McCarran Construction Site
Two Workers Suffer Critical Injuries

LAS VEGAS -- Five people were hospitalized this morning following an accident at a McCarran Airport construction site.Airport spokesperson Glenn Gardner said the workers were building a 65-foot column of reinforced steel rods that collapsed at the new international terminal project, also known as Terminal Three. Five workers were trapped under the wall for an unknown amount of time.They were pulled from the rubble and rushed to the hospital. Clark County fire spokesperson Scott Allison said two men complained of chest pains. He described the other three as in stable condition with various injuries.This is not the first accident at the construction site. In February another worker, 25-year-old Byron Souza, was killed at the site. Souza was an employee of Las Vegas paving.The site was shut down this morning as investigators moved in to piece together the cause of the accident.McCarran has targeted a 2012 opening date for the $2.4 billion terminal.
