UNLV President Says His Focus Is On School's Budget

LAS VEGAS -- University of Nevada, Las Vegas president David Ashley has spoken out about allegations that he has withdrawn from the school.On Tuesday, Chancellor Jim Rogers said Ashley should be fired if he does not resign. Ashley has been in hot water recently because his wife allegedly treats university employees harshly.Rogers said the UNLV president has been unresponsive to complaints at the university.“The focus is on whether or not my family should be included in that evaluation, I think is distracting, and I hope that is clearly resolved by the evaluation process," Ashley said on Wednesday.The next board meeting is at University of Nevada, Reno in August.Ashley said his focus is on the university's budget for the next school year, because cuts are more than 15 percent.
