Vegas Hard Rock Adding 1,200 Jobs

LAS VEGAS -- The massive two-tower expansion of the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino will boost the Las Vegas job market by putting 1,200 people to work.Hard Rock management said it recently filled 400 positions and hopes to hire 800 more workers by the end of the year. The resort is taking a unique approach to its job search, posting positions on its Twitter feed as well as its Web site.Positions that need to be filled include: dealers, housekeepers, bellmen, front desk agents and room reservation agents. The resort said it will hold job fairs later this year, although the dates have not yet been announced.The Hard Rock will soon open two new hotel towers on the property as part of an $850 million expansion that also includes the newly renovated Joint concert hall, a restaurant and tattoo parlor. Resort management said a new nightclub, spa and health club is also part of the expansion.
