LAS VEGAS -- The University of Nevada, Las Vegas athletics department will lose $1.8 million from its upcoming budget as lawmakers look for ways to solve the state’s financial crisis.A representative with the school confirmed the budget cuts Wednesday, but did not say how it will affect UNLV’s various sports teams.The Las Vegas Review-Journal reported that each individual sport would be forced to cut between 10 percent and 12 percent from their operating budgets.
