LAS VEGAS -- Calvin Darling, the man charged in the wreck that killed a Metro police officer, was due in court Monday morning.Instead, the hearing was delayed until June 8, giving attorneys a chance to reassess the case following Friday’s stunning revelation that Darling was not drunk, as police had previously believed.Blood tests revealed that although Darling admitted having “three or four” beers at a bar just before the accident, his blood-alcohol level was below the legal limit.Police said Darling still failed a field sobriety test and he is charged with felony drunken driving and failing to give right of way to an emergency vehicle. The Clark County District Attorney has not filed formal charges in the case. Darling was released from jail Friday night. The 45-year-old Bellagio worker is accused of turning his Chevy Silverado into the path of Officer James Manor’s police cruiser. Manor was trapped in the wreckage, and Darling pulled a fire extinguisher from his truck to put out a fire that started in Manor’s cruiser.Manor died from his injuries at University Medical Center.
