LAS VEGAS -- A Las Vegas middle school counselor and basketball coach was arrested after the family of a 13-year-old girl told police he was sending her sexually explicit text messages. The counselor, according to police, planned to leave his wife for the girl when she was ready to go to college. An arrest report obtained by FOX5 details the case against 39-year-old Franz C. Fajardo, an employee at Saville Middle School. He is charged with lewdnesss with a minor and using technology to lure a minor. The girl's mother told police she knew her daughter and Fajardo had been texting each other often and confronted him about the relationship in early January. She said Fajardo insisted the relationship was not physical, but he loved the girl and would wait until she turned 18 before taking the relationship further.Fajardo's wife also called the girl's mother and forwarded her several text messages from his phone. After checking her daughter's phone, the mother said Fajardo's number had been hidden under the listing for the restaurant "Baja Fresh."The police report included several texts detectives said came from Fajardo's phone, including:"Stop wondering and take a shower with me already.""If you can't tell, I'm texting because I have the opportunity. I love you.""You can put me to sleep anytime... after we have our FUN."When police confronted the 13-year-old, she told them she met Fajardo when he coached her basketball team. Police said she believed Fajardo was her boyfriend and that he considers her his girlfriend. The girl also told police she and Fajardo had kissed several times in his office, but they were waiting until she was 16 before trying anything "sexually."Detectives then contacted Fajardo, who agreed to turn himself in. He is still in custody.
