BOULDER CITY -- An anonymous letter led to the arrest of a Boulder City teacher Thursday on more than 50 counts of possession of child pornography.

Charles Richard "Rick" Rogers teaches at Garrett Junior High School, the only middle school in the community. Rogers is also a part-time soccer coach for the Boulder City Department of Parks and Recreation.

The anonymous letter accusing Rogers was sent to the Henderson Police Department, along with several electronic storage devices that police said contained pornographic images of children.

Rogers was picked up by police as he left school Thursday afternoon and was placed under arrest following an interview with detectives. Police also searched his home, vehicle and the classroom where he teaches.

A mugshot of Rogers was not immediately provided by police, and his name was not found in a search of Nevada’s online Sex Offender Registry.
