LAS VEGAS -- Authorities have begun recovering the remains of the 50 people killed in a plane crash in New York, and one of those people has a local connection.

The brother of one of the victims lives in the Valley.

Kenneth Fiore is the brother of JJ Fiore. JJ was on Flight 3407 on his way home to Niagara Falls.

Now, his brother wants Las Vegas to know this crash is not just affecting people on the East Coast.

“After a series of questions, they put me on hold and said, ‘Yeah, your brother was on that flight.’ That’s when my heart dropped out. Even though I had been called twice -- but I had to hear it from them,” Kenneth Fiore said.

Kenneth said his brother may have been on that flight headed home from a base in Dover. JJ was a retired Marine.
