LAS VEGAS -- A plane with an engine fire has landed safely at McCarran Airport, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.Southwest Airlines flight 273 left McCarran at 3:09 p.m. bound for Islip, N.Y. The fire began immediately after takeoff, and the plane turned around to land at McCarran, the FAA said.The FAA said the plane landed safely at about 3:30 p.m.There were 116 passengers on board the plane.The fire was on the right side of the engine.
