LAS VEGAS -- In response to Gov. Jim Gibbons' proposed 36 percent cut to the state's higher education budget, the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, will host a town hall meeting to discuss the economic crisis.At 6 p.m. Monday, representatives from the College of Southern Nevada, Nevada State College, the Desert Research Institute and UNLV will discuss the potential cuts with students and parents.Board of Regents Chair Michael Wixom, Chancellor Jim Rogers and university presidents David Ashley, Fred Maryanski, Michael Richards and Stephen Wells will also attend.It is open to the public.
