More Americans plan on staying home this holiday season.

According to AAA, holiday travel will decline by 2 percent because of the economy.

It said nearly 64 million Americans will travel at least 50 miles during the Christmas-New Year’s period.

Air travel is also expected to take a hit. About 8 million people are expected to fly the friendly skies over the same period.
