Valley triathlete Dantley Young was the winner of the Nevada Silverman Triathlon.

It includes a 112-mile bike ride and a 26-mile run.

FOX5’s John Huck took part in the 2.4-mile swimming portion of the race.

It took racers from Lake Mead to the finish line at Henderson's Multigenerational Center.

Andy Hatcher also took part in the race. He's part of Operation Rebound, a support group for wounded war veterans who are trying to get back into sports.

"When I was in Iraq during the second invasion of Fallujah in 2004, my vehicle was hit by a roadside bomb. It claimed the life of my platoon sergeant and took my leg. It gave me a nice scar right there," Hatcher said.

Young finished in 10 hours and one minute.

This year's triathlon raked in $75,000 for Operation Rebound.
