LAS VEGAS -- The county is already announcing plans for the century it's been in existence.Clark County will celebrate its centennial next year, and the county commissioners have several events for both young and old. They said they will be educational and not about partying. It will be a great way for new residents, and even long-time locals, to learn about the county's history."A community event is supposed to bring the community together. A lot of people that live in southern Nevada aren't from here. They don't feel connections here, and we just wanted to make sure the community's roots were deeper," said Rory Reid of the Clark County Commission.Clark County was created on July 1, 1909, when it was split off from Lincoln County.
