LAS VEGAS -- The husband of a suspended Nevada judge has pleaded not guilty to attempted murder charges.Edward Halverson, 49, was indicted last week on charges of attempting to murder his wife, suspended District Court Judge Elizabeth Halverson.During an argument with his wife at the beginning of September, police said Ed Halverson struck the judge in the head with a cast iron skillet.Elizabeth Halverson was taken to Sunrise Hospital, where she had surgery to repair her fractured skull. She spent more than two weeks in the hospital and had more than 100 staples inserted into her head to help heal deep cuts.She is currently suspended from the bench while she battles accusations of misconduct.Edward Halverson is scheduled to go to trial on Dec. 1. He is being held on $113,000 bail.
