LAS VEGAS -- Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials have entered into an agreement with Metro police that allows specially trained officers at the Clark County Detention Center to identify immigration violators and initiate deportation proceedings, according to an ICE spokeswoman.The department last year applied for the 287(g) partnership with ICE, a pact that empowers local officers to do some forms of immigration policing, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
