LAS VEGAS -- It's now the defense's turn in the O.J. Simpson trial.The prosecution rested its case Friday afternoon.Earlier in the day, former co-defendant Michael McClinton admitted he brought a gun to the alleged heist at the Palace Station.McClinton didn't hold back as he pointed the finger at Simpson as the ring leader and said Simpson told him to bring a gun and look menacing.McClinton testified Simpson asked him and Walter Alexander to bring guns to the Palace Station hotel and casino last September.Simpson didn't look happy throughout McClinton's testimony. The 61-year-old maintains he never asked anyone to bring weapons and never saw guns during the incident.The jury heard recordings of Simpson that McClinton secretly made following the incident.McClinton pleaded guilty to robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery. He could be sentenced to probation or up to six years in prison.Earlier, the jury listened to recordings of police investigators chuckling about Simpson's troubles, using foul language when talking about the former football start and rejoicing about his impending arrest.Simpson and co-defendant Clarence Stewart are facing 12 charges. If convicted, both could end up with life in prison with a chance of parole.The prosecution ended their case Friday. The defense will cross examine McClinton on Monday.
