LAS VEGAS -- Nevada is considered a battleground state in this election, and an influx of new voters could tip the scales in Sen. Barack Obama's favor.Nearly 12,000 residents of Hawaii, where Obama was raised, have traded in their beautiful beaches for jobs in the desert in the past decade. That's a lot, considering the Silver State has 1.3 million registered voters."I personally have been getting a lot of calls for Obama ... Vote for Obama. Contact your friends. Contact your family," said Nevada resident Charles Herring."Yeah, I think we could be a real weapon in this campaign," said Obama supporter Ed Hasegawa.Obama's Hawaii Network called 3,000 Nevada residents during the state’s caucuses, and now they're ramping up for the general election.
