As the general election draws closer, the presidential candidates are blazing up the campaign trail.

On Wednesday at 5 p.m., Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama will speak to a crowd of Valley residents at Cashman Field.

The economy has been a hot-button issue in the forthcoming election, ranking as the most important issue for most Americans in a recent survey; and the economy and housing market should be a topic of discussion for Obama during his speech.

Doors open at 2:30 p.m. for the Las Vegas rally, with Obama set to take the stage at 5 p.m.

It is free and open to the public. Anyone interested in attending should visit Obama's Web site to RSVP.
