LAS VEGAS -- The pilot who died in the second North Las Vegas plane crash had a clean flying record, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.William Leahy Jr., 38 of Redwood City, Calif., was the only person aboard the Piper PA-31-350 Navajo Chieftain when it crashed into a two-story home Thursday, police said.The wreck caused a three-alarm fire at North Jones Boulevard and West Cheyenne Avenue. The five family members in the residence escaped injury.Leahy had no record of FAA enforcement action, said FAA regional spokesman Ian Gregor said Tuesday. Gregor added that the aircraft -- owned by Aeronet Supply of Gardena, Calif. -- also had no record of accidents.Leahy reported engine trouble shortly after taking off from the executive airport, bound for Palo Alto, Calif.
