LAS VEGAS -- A group of Metro officers is helping Spanish-speaking citizens get more involved in fighting crime.Registration was held Wednesday for the third-annual Hispanic Citizens Academy.During the eight-week academy, volunteers will be taught how to communicate crime details to officers."We want to let them know, hey, you know what, you are safe here. We're here to serve. That is our common goal,” said Officer David Cienega, of the Hispanic Resource Team.The courses are taught in Spanish by Spanish-speaking employees of the Metro Police Department.Classes are held once a week at Clark High School at 4291 Pennwood Ave.
