LAS VEGAS -- Residents on the southeast side of Las Vegas will get a new hotel-casino, and FOX5 got a first look.

At 8 p.m. Thursday, the Eastside Cannery will open at Harmon Avenue and Boulder Highway.

The $250 million-facility will feature a hotel 16 stories tall, with 300 rooms, officials said. It also has 21,000 slot machines, 26 gaming tables, 450-seat bingo hall and a race and sports book.

It has created 500 construction jobs and, once opened, will offer 800 long-term positions.
