LAS VEGAS -- Officials have identified two of the three people killed when an experimental plane crashed into a North Las Vegas home.Lucy Costa, 77, and her 80-year-old husband Jack Costa were inside their home on Langdon Way when a small plane crashed into it early Friday morning, police said.Three days after the wreck, their damaged home stands as a memorial to the couple. Friends and neighbors have placed flowers and a cross in front of the residence shortly after the tragedy."I was getting ready for work and heard a big explosion," neighbor Lupe Amezzua said "My first reaction was to check and see if everyone was OK. The explosion was big."According to Federal Aviation Administration reports, the pilot of the experimental aircraft took off from the North Las Vegas Airport and was unable to gain altitude. At 6:28 a.m. Friday, he radioed the FAA control tower, saying he was going to crash. He struck the Costas' home, directly next door to Amezzua."I ran out immediately -- me and other neighbors -- try to help break in windows," Amezzua said. "Something, you know? They were really nice people. I feel sorry for them. "One of the Costas died when the plane struck the house, police said. Another was taken to University Medical Center and later died of injuries sustained in the crash. The pilot of the plane was also killed, police said, but has yet to be identified.A report of the crash is being created by the National Transportation Safety Board, but they sasid it would be at least a year before much of it is revealed.
