Trial Starts In 'Jane Cordova Doe' Case

LAS VEGAS -- The couple accused of killing a toddler and throwing her body in a Dumpster will begin their trial Thursday.Marc Anthony Colon, 30, and Gladys Perez, 24, killed Perez's daughter, Crystal Figaroua, in January of 2006, police said.When Figaroua's body was discovered, police began a manhunt for her killer. She was known as "Jane Cordova Doe" until she was identified three months later.Once she was identified, police said they were able to arrest Colon and Perez in connection with Figaroua's death.
Both adults have pleaded not guilty to felony murder and child abuse charges.
