LAS VEGAS -- Residents in Summerlin and northwest Las Vegas will have less commute congestion thanks to the county commission. On Tuesday, commissioners decided to open the interchange between Lake Mead Boulevard and the 215 Beltway in about six weeks. The opening of the $12.4 million interchange comes almost two years early.Commissioners Chip Maxfield and Susan Brager made the request from the board earlier this week, saying that construction is complete except for extending electricity to the site and posting screens to shield some adjacent residents' backyards.
The interchange was suppose to open in 2010 with the 215 interchange at Summerlin Parkway.
