LAS VEGAS -- More than 400 parcels of land in the south central part of the Las Vegas are no longer required to carry flood insurance.This decision comes with a series of new map revisions approved by the Federal Emergency Management Agency.Construction of flood control facilities and a restudy of flood hazards in the area caused the map revision.The areas being removed from a flood zone are around Maryland Parkway, between Cactus Avenue and CC 215.
