Residents who want to support our military fighting overseas will get the chance to "Adopt An Airman."

On Saturday, the Silverton Casino and Hot 97.5 FM will host the program that pairs soon-to-be-deployed members of the 820th Red Horse Squadron with Valley residents.

The airmen, who will be sent to Iraq, Afghanistan and Qatar in August, will fill out information cards that will be placed in a jar. Organizers will then choose a soldier at random for families.

While deployed, the "adoptive" families will have the chance to send the soldiers care packages and communicate with them while at war.

The event begins at 5 p.m. and will be held in the Silverton Casino Lodge's parking lot. For more information, call 702-263-7777.
