State Releases I-15 Construction Schedule

Project To Last Through Summer 2009

State transportation officials have released a schedule of lane closures for the Interstate 15 repair project.

There will be several closures, many lasting for months, they said. In preparation for the congestion, they recommend travelers find alternate routes to and from destinations.

There are 12 road closures or lane restrictions planned for the repair project:

  • Monday: Southbound I-15 from Interstate 95 to the Lake Mead Interchange will be reduced to two lanes. The restriction will be in place until summer 2009.
  • Friday, July 18: Northbound I-15 from Interstate 95 to the Lake Mead Interchange will be reduced to two lanes. The restriction will be in place until summer 2009.
  • Friday, July 18: I-95 northbound to I-15 northbound ramp will be closed. The restriction will be in place until summer 2009.
  • Friday, July 18: I-95 southbound to I-15 northbound ramp will be closed. The restriction will be in place until summer 2009.
  • Friday: July 18: The entrance ramp to I-15 northbound from Martin Luther King Boulevard will be closed. The restriction will be in place until summer 2009.
  • Friday, July 18: The off ramp from I-15 northbound to D Street/Washington Avenue will be closed. The restriction will be in place until summer 2009.
  • Friday, July 25: Washington Avenue at I-15 will be closed in each direction from 9 p.m. through 5 a.m. Monday, July 28, for bridge demolition.
  • Tuesday, July 29: D Street at I-15 will be closed in each direction from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Friday, Aug. 1, for bridge demolition.
  • Monday, Aug. 4: Bonanza Road near the Hancock Petroleum area will have lane restrictions in each direction from 5 a.m. to Aug. 8, and will be closed in each direction beginning 9 p.m., Friday, Aug. 8, to Aug. 15.
  • Saturday, July 13: The Craig Road westbound on-ramp to I-15 southbound will be closed from 9 p.m. Saturday to July 28.
  • Monday, July 28: The I-15 northbound exit to Craig Road will be closed from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday, July 28.
  • On I-15 between Craig Road and Cheyenne Avenue, various lanes will be closed in each direction from Sunday through Friday evenings, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
