Protesters Say Porter Makes Money Off Oil Companies

Rep. Jon Porter is taking gas receipts all the way to Capitol Hill to protest the prices at the pump.

But not everyone's buying it.

On Monday, residents from Porter's District 3 protested the congressman. They said last month, Porter voted against a bill that would have eliminated tax incentives to big oil companies and cut taxes for more than 58,000 families in his district.

Many Nevadans say they're struggling to make a living, while Porter reportedly makes a large amount of money off the oil companies.

"We think that the receipt that really matters here is the $210,000 receipt that shows how much he has received from big oil and gas companies," said protester Kirsten Searer.

Porter said he wants to hand-deliver gas receipts to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
