LAS VEGAS -- Las Vegas Rescue Mission received a generous donation Thursday to help people in the Valley who are less fortunate. The mission has been serving the needs of the poor, addicted and homeless for more than 35 years.Sunrise Assisted Living gave the mission 95 brand new mattresses.Staff members said they had a lot of old mattresses they couldn't afford to replace."Our budget financially doesn't allow us to go out and just replace mattresses of this magnitude because we have over 100, probably 125-130 minimum, children sleeping here at the mission every night," said spokesman Ken Sprenkle.Half of the 700 meals they serve at the mission each day also come from donations.
