LAS VEGAS -- Just days after being hospitalized with a broken eye socket, Oakland Raider wide receiver Javon Walker has issued a statement about the night he was attacked.Walker was found unconscious at about Monday morning near Koval Lane and Winnick Avenue, officers said.He was taken to Sunrise Medical Center’s Trauma unit with a broken eye socket and other injuries. He is still in the hospital and is listed in stable condition, police said.According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal columnist Norm Clarke, Walker was seen Saturday night at Tryst at the Wynn spraying the crowd with some of the 15 bottles of Dom Perignon Rose champagne he ordered.
Clarke also said Walker was at Body English at Hard Rock Hotel and Casino until 6:30 a.m. Monday and that his first round of champagne cost him $15,000.In an interview Wednesday with TheDirty.com, Walker said he was the victim of a robbery:"I was just back at my room and at about 5:30 in the morning I got a knock at the door. I opened it and three guys with guns were there. They cracked me in the head a few times, knocking me unconscious. They then robbed me of everything I had; my watch, money, everything! Somehow they got me to a car and dropped me off in the street. That’s what happened."In comments issued Wednesday by his agent, the 29-year-old Walker said he wants to thank those who offered prayers and support.Police are still investigating the attack.
