The Las Vegas mayor is talking about progress in downtown, despite the struggling economy.

Mayor Oscar Goodman held his weekly news conference Thursday, and he acknowledged there are some struggles.

But he said not all of the projects planned are having trouble.

He said one area not affected is the Union Park Project.

The mayor also talked about the rising cost of gas and said he's worried the fuel prices will keep tourists from coming to Las Vegas.

He also said 90 percent of the city’s vehicles use alternative fuel.
