NORTH LAS VEGAS -- Democratic presidential hopeful Barack Obama is campaigning in the valley Tuesday.Obama is focusing on the foreclosure crisis.Obama has several stops in the area, but first thing on his agenda was meeting with a local family affected by the foreclosure crisis.He also held a discussion with homeowners about the crisis that threatens millions of families across the country.
Nevada has one of the highest foreclosure rates in the nation.Obama discussed his plan to crack down on fraudulent brokers and lenders and protect consumers against abusive lending practices.He also talked about a plan to provide a tax credit to all middle-class homeowners.On Monday, Obama was in New Mexico talking about fuel prices.“I think the most important thing we can do immediately is offer tax relief … extra money in their pockets,” Obama said.Tuesday's discussion with Obama in North Las Vegas was invitation only and not open to the public.Meanwhile, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton will be campaigning in Montana Tuesday.John McCain is teaming up with President George W. Bush to campaign in Phoenix.
