In an effort to catch two men who stole several cell phones from a store, Metro police have released an image of one of the men from the surveillance tape.

Just before 12 p.m. on May 1, police said two men walked into a cellular store near Boulder Highway and Flamingo Road.

While one acted as a customer, distracting an employee, the second man cut the security cords on some of the phones, causing the alarm to sound, police said.

At that time, another employee confronted the man who cut the cords. He told police the man threatened him, saying "Back off or get beat down."

Both men then fled the store with merchandise, running east across Boulder Highway.

Police were able to get an image of one of the men, who they describe as 25 years old, about 5 feet 10 inches tall and 200 pounds, with his hair in pig tails. His accomplice, who was not pictured, is described as 21-year-old black man, with a think build. He was wearing a black Rocawear jacket with red-striped sleeves.

Anyone with information is asked to call Metro's Robbery Section at 702-828-3591 or Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555.
