In an effort to end the growing number of animal terminations in the Valley shelters, one group is creating an image download program to raise funds for area shelters.

Save Las Vegas Dogs has a launched a citywide effort to raise awareness of high kill rates at the LIED Animal Shelter and to encourage residents to stop this trend.

People will be able to download images of current dogs in shelters for $2.99 via text message. The proceeds of the download will go to the Nevada Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and to dog rescue groups around town.

Las Vegas has one of the highest kill numbers of any city in the nation, according to the SPCA.

To make a donation or to sign up for the image downloading program, visit SaveLasVegasDogs.com.
