An employee of the University Medical Center’s Lied Pediatric Center has been arrested by Metro police on theft charges.

On Wednesday, detectives said they arrested Keisha Jones, 33, on one count of burglary and one count of felony theft.

Representatives of the hospital contacted police earlier in the week after an internal audit revealed that Jones was possibly responsible for the theft of approximately $109,000 from January 2007 to the present.

Metro conducted an undercover operation to determine if the thefts were taking place.

Authorities said Jones was then arrested and booked into the Clark County Detention Center.

Police said the investigation will continue, and more charges may be brought forward at a later date.
