LAS VEGAS -- Police are investigating a possible murder-suicide.

They said a son came home Monday to find his mother and stepfather dead.

It happened on Madagascar Lane, near West Sahara Avenue and South Hualapai Way.

Police said a husband and wife were found shot dead inside their home.

Investigators have been in and out of the house most of the day.

Police said the son, who witnesses said is in his 40s, came home and found his mother and stepfather shot on the bed.

Neighbors said the family has had their issues leading up to this.

"We haven't seen the mother in years. She had a stroke. The only one we ever see is the old man, Joe, screaming at his son out the window. Profanities, everything else," said neighbor Margo Huish.

Witnesses said the son, Arty, was in handcuffs earlier, but police released him.

Neighbors also said the son has been found in the past going through neighbors’ trash cans, and his parents made him live outside the house.
