LAS VEGAS -- Metro police are trying to find out who left a dead baby in a bathroom trash can at the Excalibur Hotel and Casino at 3850 Las Vegas Blvd. S.A hotel worker found it at about 9:40 p.m. Sunday and alerted authorities.The coroner's office is conducting an autopsy to see if the baby was breathing at birth. If so, the case will be considered a homicide.Otherwise, the mother would be charged with failure to render aid.
The coroner’s office said tests will take about two weeks to complete.Police said there are no leads or surveillance tapes.
