Police have identified a woman who was killed in a wreck after the driver of her car failed to yield to oncoming traffic, police said.

Margret Dienes, 89, was leaving her home with her husband, George, 90, on May 3 near Harmon Avenue and Koval Lane.

George Dienes did not see an oncoming car and was struck, injuring all three people, police said.

Margret Dienes was taken to Sunrise Trauma Center, where she later died.

Police did not say whether George Dienes would face charges in the wreck, but said his failure to yield caused the collision.

This is the 48th car-related fatality in Metro's jurisdiction.
