Metro police are searching for a man who they say left his friend shot in a street.

Just after 12:30 a.m. Friday, police were called to a home near Washington Avenue and Dolores Drive.

When they arrived at the scene, they found a man shot in the middle of the street.

The homeowner said he heard a knock on the door and found a man standing outside. The man told him that his friend was shot and needed help, so the homeowner called an ambulance, police said.

But as soon as the homeowner called for the authorities, he said the man ran off, leaving his friend.

The man was later pronounced dead at the scene.

Police have not made any arrests in this case. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555.
