LAS VEGAS -- People in the valley learned on Thursday that if they save water, they can save some money.Local conservation officials were on hand at the Southern Nevada Water Authority discussing the potential effect of climate change on the valley’s water supply. The SNWA will give $1.50 for every square foot of turf replaced with desert landscaping. The Water Conservation Coalition isn't just targeting homes, but also businesses.
"Water is an issue for all of us to be concerned about. We live on the driest desert in North America, and we have to start living like we do," said Tom Warden of the Water Conservation Coalition. The WCC said replacing turf will help save millions of gallons of water each year.
