LAS VEGAS -- More teenagers were on the stand Thursday for the preliminary hearing of Ezekiel Williams and Gerald Davison. The two are accused of killing Palo Verde student Chris Privett in February.A teenager testified he was a former gang member from Florida who moved to Las Vegas in January. He said on Feb. 15, he was walking home with Privett and two other boys, and he was flashing examples of gang signs, when it attracted the wrong attention from a group of people in a car.Witnesses said the car sped away but later returned. That's when several shots were fired and struck Privett, according to police.
Witnesses testified Williams, 18, was driving when Davison, 16, fired the gun from the back seat.Mandesha Walker, Williams’ girlfriend, and two other girls were in the car.One teenager said she was shocked and confronted Walker on MySpace. The reason behind the shooting was given as gang conflict by witnesses.Williams' attorney tried to argue he was only the driver during the shooting and didn't instigate anything, but prosecutors insisted he played a major role. Both Williams and Davison are charged with murder. The preliminary hearing continues at 10 a.m. Friday.
