LAS VEGAS -- Donald Trump's prime piece of real estate is ready to open.Trump International Hotel and Tower is set to open Monday, but FOX5 took a sneak peek. The moment visitors walk into the lobby, they will know they are in a resort unique to Las Vegas.“It is unlike anything in Las Vegas. We are non-smoking, non-gaming,” said vice president Steve Shalit.
And with no nightclubs or casino, the Trump property gives the high-end visitor the best of both worlds -- a quiet resort close to gaming, shopping and nightlife.“This is a Donald Trump designed and inspired hotel with New York features, plus resort amenities,” Shalit said. From Italian marble to the 24-karat gold plate glass windows, the resort will be the third in a series of new Trump hotel properties that are being built around the world. It’s catering to high-end users.“The attention to detail that Mr.Trump and the Trump family have put into design is beyond anything I've ever seen,” Shalit said. From the 500 thread count linens to the televisions for your viewing pleasure, including one that is contained in the bathroom mirror, everything is designed to make guests feel like they are special.“All suites have cook facilities. We've got speculator views, plus it’s fully outfitted,” Shalit said. The top four floors of penthouses provide guests with a panoramic view. The biggest penthouse takes up about 3,500 square feet. From the restaurants to the pool, the gym and the spa, everything spells luxury. At the spa guests can buy body lotions to take home that contain flecks of gold, diamonds and rubies. While most of the property is designed for guests, locals are also welcome.“Our DJT restaurant, we will try and draw a strong local following as well as our spa. We're here to be part of the community, and we will do our share,” Shalit said.Between Friday and Monday morning, the finishing touches are being put on to make sure opening will make Donald proud. In the next 48 months, Trump plans on opening hotel resorts in Fort Lauderdale, Waikiki and Toronto. There are also plans to build in Egypt, Istanbul and England.
