LAS VEGAS -- With some pumps reporting $3.25 a gallon, a trip to the gas station could break the bank for some people. That price is the highest southern Nevada has ever seen.As it is with supply and demand, the cost per gallon is causing the international cost per barrel to increase -- it hit a record $109 Tuesday. This spike is a drastic increase from last year at this time when the average was $2.65.Financial experts said gas prices will not be decreasing any time soon and there is a 50 percent chance fuel could cost us $4 a gallon by Memorial Day.
